There is no single useful “Tenerife car-hire price” without dates, a vehicle and collection details. Start with the live quote for your actual trip, then separate what you will spend from money that may only be held temporarily. A daily rate on a car page is a starting point; it is not a quote for your dates. [S1][S2]

Build the total in five lines

1. Rental charge for your dates. Choose the exact car and enter collection and return dates and places. Compare the full trip total, not one car’s “from” rate with another car’s total. A Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet R-Line is one live-fleet option; open its vehicle page and check the current rate, deposit and availability for your dates. [S1][S2]

2. Delivery, timing and extras. Check whether the chosen handover place or time adds a charge, and whether any optional extras appear in the quote. The published rental guide says delivery to more remote locations may cost extra and is agreed in advance; verify the amount for your address before confirming. [S3]

3. Fuel. Read the fuel rule in the rental terms and note the level at handover. Estimate your driving fuel separately from the rental price; use the Spanish Ministry’s live fuel-price map for current station prices rather than an old blog figure. The company’s published guide currently describes a full-to-full rule and a refuelling charge if the car is returned short; recheck the current terms for your booking. [S3][S4]

4. Parking. Add the places where you expect to park, then check the signs and local rules when you arrive. Spain’s traffic authority says parking colours, time limits and charges can vary by municipality, so a single island-wide parking estimate would be misleading. [S5]

5. Payment now versus money held. Keep a booking prepayment, the remaining rental balance and a refundable security deposit on separate lines. The current rental guide says the prepayment is credited toward the rental price, so do not add it on top of the full rental total. The exact deposit is vehicle-specific and should be checked on that car’s page. A refundable deposit is not the same thing as a trip expense, although it can affect how much money you need available during the rental. [S2][S3]

A practical worksheet is: rental total for selected dates + any agreed delivery or options + fuel + parking = estimated trip spend. Keep refundable deposit in a separate “funds needed temporarily” line. Check cancellation and date-change terms before paying a prepayment; the current company guide sets out those conditions. [S3]

For a convertible, browse the live Cabriolet fleet and check the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet R-Line for your dates. For the difference between a deposit and a rental cost, see the deposit guide. Prices and terms can change; confirm the current quote and contract before booking. The manual T-Roc Cabriolet cannot be booked at the moment (checked 8 November 2026), so the automatic R-Line is the T-Roc to check.

What the included insurance does not cover

Comprehensive insurance (a todo riesgo) with an excess is included in the rental price. The amount of the excess is set in section 8 of our rental terms; the deposit for a specific car is shown on its page. The same section lists what the insurance does not cover. In these cases the renter pays the full cost, not limited by the excess:

  • damage to tyres and wheel rims;
  • loss of or damage to the keys;
  • refuelling with the wrong type of fuel;
  • theft of or damage to personal belongings left in the car;
  • driving off paved roads, including volcanic and unsurfaced tracks;
  • driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • damage to the interior caused by the renter;
  • incidents where the age or driving-experience requirements were not met, or where there was no prior written agreement for that.

For the budget this means two separate lines: the excess is the most you pay for a covered incident, while the cases above can cost more. Read the terms in force on the day you book (checked 8 November 2026).
